Greetings from Tink World!
A recent issue of Progressive Farmer busted a couple myths about beef. It's always nice to see positive things about eating red meat. So, I thought I'd share a little lesson with you.
Beef is a good source of vitamins B12 and B6. Both B vitamins help with energy levels and brain function. According to the article, a small serving, 3 oz., is 44% of your daily needed B12 and 22% of the needed B6. So, if you are looking for a boost of energy, skip the energy drinks and eat a small bit of beef, Tink's Beef.
Also, beef is a great source of both types of iron, heme and nonheme. Vegetables, such as leafy greens, are a great source of iron. However, they only contain nonheme iron. Your body needs both types to run at its best.
As for markets, Team Tink will be at the Evans Towne Farmers Market on Thursday, May 29. The hours are 4:30 to 7:00 p.m. Then, on Saturday, May 31, we'll be at the Augusta Market on the River from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
As always, feel free to place an order for pick up at the farm or a market. Please have your order in at least 24 hours before the market date/time. That will give us time to get the order together and on the truck.
Hope you had a great holiday weekend. We'd like to thank the brave who sacrificed it all for our freedom. Freedom isn't free. May peace be with the families of those that have lost loved ones that were fighting for our country. God bless you and God Bless the USA!
Have a great week. We'll see you at the market!
