Greetings from Tink World!fat.png

Not all fats are created equal. It is sometimes hard to tell what fat is good for you and what isn’t. Well, the simplest way to see fats is shown in the picture. If the oil/fat is highly processed, it’s probably not the most healthful fat to consume.

Take the old margarine vs. butter campaign. Margarine is heavily processed and has a slew of ingredients. Butter has one main ingredient, milk. It may also contain salt if your purchase salted butter. So, when you are trying to figure out which fat is best, always resort back to nature.

And in case you didn’t know, Tink has beef tallow and pork fat/lard for sale at markets. All you have to do is render it and you’re good to go.

As for markets, the Evans Towne Market is set to begin Thursday, March 20. The hours are 4:30 to 7:00 p.m. and the market is located behind the Columbia County Library. Then, on Saturday, March 22, Team Tink will be at the Decatur Farmers Market from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Come see us and Cowboy Gus. Saturday is his 1st birthday!

Well, that’s all for now. See you at the market!
