Greetings from Tink World!

Growing up and living on a farm, you learn to live with loss. Animals die, run away or find a new home because they don't fit in the farm life. You sort of get used to losing things and maybe even become numb to it.

Well, this weekend we lost part of our family and it hasn't been easy to let go. Rocko was a bulldog/boxer mix. I adopted him when I lived in Decatur after Rocko.jpgcollege. He was one of the sweetest dogs I've ever been around. Rocko won over Tink and when I got married I left him at Tink's farm because he loved it so. Plus, he was a great guard dog. So, he became a fixture at Tink's farm and was often found following her around.

We all took it hard. Luckily, he died quickly and painlessly. We don't know what caused his death, but he was an older dog. Tink found him laying on the ground when she got home from town on Saturday. Rocko didn't get up to greet her which is very unusual. She covered him up until we were able to dig his grave. We buried him a few hours later in our pet cemetery.

Rocko was buried with two of his favorite things, a Tink's dog bone and a Big Daddy turkey bacon biscuit. Plus, we sent a lot of love to him and even said a few words before we had to cover him up.

Losing a pet, especially one that was as awesome as Rocko, is never easy. It doesn't matter how many pets or animals you have lost, you never really become numb to having to say goodbye to a friend. I just hope that he knew how much we all loved him. Rest in peace, Rocko. You will forever be missed.

As for markets, Team Tink will be making deliveries for Augusta Locally Grown on Tuesday. Then, we will be back at the Decatur Farmers Market on Wednesday, October 30. It's the last 4-7 p.m. market before the time change. Then, on Saturday, November 2, Team Tink will be at the Decatur Farmers Market from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Don't forget that you can send an email with your wish list. That way, you'll be sure to get the cuts you want! You can also order ahead online.

Well, that's all for now. Have a great week! We'll see you at the market!
