Greetings from Tink World!

I hope you all survived the snow storm. Things at the farm weren't nearly as bad as they were in the Atlanta area. We got a light dusting of snow and some ice. However, our roads weren't iced over and we were able to travel if necessary.

Well, I wanted to share, re-share actually, a recipe that we finally tried out. Our friend Guy, who helps at the Decatur Farmers Market, gave us the recipe. We have used short ribs in making broth before, but never as the star of the show. Tink made this earlier in the week and boy, was it good! Plus, it's easy! Hope you like it as much as we did.

1 pack of Tink’s Beef Short Ribs

Salt

Pepper

2 ½ c water

¼ c apple cider vinegar

¼ c molasses

BBQ Sauce of choice

Instructions:

Season ribs liberally with salt and pepper. Place the ribs fat side down in a crock pot that is set to low heat. Add all ingredients minus the BBQ sauce and cover. Allow the ribs to braise, unmolested, for 7-8 hours.

Once the ribs have finished in the crock pot, it’s time to finish them off in the oven. Preheat the oven and skillet to 450 degrees. Remove ribs from stock and coat with your favorite BBQ sauce. Carefully place ribs fat side down in the skillet and roast for 3-4 minutes. Turn ribs and coat again with sauce. Return to oven for 3 minutes. Before serving and slicing, allow the meat to rest on a cutting board for 5-10 minutes.

As for markets this week, Team Tink will be at the Decatur Farmers Market on Wednesday, February 5 from 3-6 p.m. Then, on Saturday, February 8, Team Tink will be at the Decatur Farmers Market from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

It's important to note that all market appearances are tentative. Be sure to check our Facebook page for more info on cancellations of market appearances and other useful info. The weatherman is calling for a lot of rain this week. We keep a close eye on the weather and try to be at all markets. However, in case of heavy rain this week, we may have to cancel. So, just be on the lookout!

Hope you have a great week! We'll see you at the market!
