Greetings from Tink World!

No, the title of the blog has nothing to do with name calling. Today, Mack found a snake on the farm. It's really no big deal. They are

photo_(41).JPGeverywhere this time of year. However, the snake, which was just a black snake, was found near where some of the chickens roost. Since these snakes will eat eggs and can kill a chicken, we figured it best to get the snake out of there.

So, instead of killing it, Mack relocated it. He caught the snake and walked it across the yard, away from the chickens and their eggs. It was quite brave. You won't see me doing any snake wrangling.

You see, on a farm, non-poisonous snakes can be beneficial. They can eat mice and other rodents. As long as they don't eat eggs or kill chickens, we are happy to move them to another part of the farm. Well, as long as Mack is around to handle that.

As for markets, Team Tink will be at the Evans Towne Market on Thursday, June 5. The market is behind the Columbia County Library and is from 4:30 to 7:00 p.m. Then, on Saturday, you can catch us at two markets. Tink will be at the Thomson Farmers Market on Journal St. from 8 a.m. to noon. Then, the other truck will be at the Decatur Farmers Market from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

So, there are plenty of opportunities to catch us this week. Don't forget about Augusta and Athens Locally Grown. Also, Nature's Garden Express is a great option for home delivery of fresh organics and meats.

Well, that's all for now. Have a great week. We'll see you at the market!
