Greetings from Tink World!
Well, we finally got rain this weekend! Hopefully, the rain will continue into this week and so will the cooler temperatures. July has been pretty mild thus far and hopefully the rest of the summer won't be as brutal as the beginning.
I haven't shared a recipe in a while. So, I figured it was time to find something easy and delicious to try. If you love a good patty melt, look no further! Below is an easy recipe that is sure to please the whole family! Serve with home fries cooked in Tink's tallow or pork fat and you'll really have a crowd pleaser!
1 stick Butter
1 lb Tink's Ground Beef
Salt, Pepper and garlic, to taste
1 Tbsp. Worcestershire Sauce
8 slices Swiss cheese
8 slices Rye Bread
Halve and slice the onions. Then, in a medium skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium-low heat. Add the onions and cook slowly until onions are brown and soft, about 20 minutes. While the onions are cooking, make the patties. In a medium bowl, mix together the ground beef, salt, pepper, garlic and Worcestershire. Form into four thin patties.
In a separate skillet, melt 2 tablespoons butter over medium heat. Cook the patties on both sides to your liking. I prefer a little pink in my patty. You may need to cover with a lid to get patties cooked through.
Now, it’s time to assemble. Slice of bread, cheese, hamburger patty, onions, another slice of cheese, and top with another slice of bread. Melt 2 tablespoons butter on a clean griddle or in a skillet. Grill the sandwiches until golden brown. Remove the sandwiches and melt 2 tablespoons of butter. Cook the other side until golden brown and crisp.
Cut in half and enjoy!
As for markets, Team Tink will once again be back at the Evans Towne Market on Thursday. The hours are 4:30 to 7:00 p.m. Then, on Saturday, we will be back in action at the Decatur Farmers Market from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
As always, you can order ahead via email (email@example.com) or through The Farm Store. You can also find Tink's products on Augusta and Athens Locally Grown, at Ripe Thing Market in Greensboro and at Nature's Garden Express.
Well, that's all for now. Have a great week. We'll see you at the market!
